It's been a while since I've updated the website and I wanted to make a blog post first. Writing on my first novel has been put on hiatus for the time being. I was away for a while and the downtime really sapped my inspirations for a while. I'm slowly getting back into it, so don't worry. I'm not going to give up on writing all together, I'm just taking my time getting back to it. Right now, I'm actually taking a really long look at my current writing project and bringing some fresh questions and ideas to it to see if I need to change course on it. I'm not on a publishing time frame so I can really take my time at this, although I don't want to spend years and years trying to get it done. This deep look at the current material is to see whether I've ventured too far off the path of what I've wanted to tell. I think I can tell you this, the current material is based upon true life events of mine. Things that I went through some 20 years ago while being a "goth" inspired me to start this story. Somewhere in there I think I got a bit too far off the path and I want to correct it now before I get the whole story written and go to publish it and feel really silly about a story that had too much stuff that just didn't belong in it. So, with that said, I'm looking at it really hard. There may be some plot changes to realign it with what really happened. I mean, I want it to stay in the realm of reality as much as possible and I think some of the elements took it too far into the fantasy area. Maybe it would work, but I don't think that's the story I want to tell. And I have to say that the website needs to be revamped. Damn, I wish I could find an interior decor
I've decided to change the name of my book. I felt this change was necessary and I wanted it to be grittier in nature so I went ahead and did it. I'm going to wait until I have a few more things done before I reveal the name.
But it's good! Don't worry. My only advice: brush up on your latin! The working title for my book is "In Goth We Trust." This is of course subject to change.
Man, it's been a while since I've been here. I do have some news to relay. I'm currently plugging away on details for my next book, a full-fledged fictional novel. I have a working title for it which I will keep to myself until I get a bit farther along with it or when I have the new title started with my self-publishing outlet.
Other things going on in my life: the biggest thing going on is my desire to be with a certain woman that's in my life. She has changed it in such good ways that I can't stop thinking about her. I mean, if she were to go away or get with another man, or choose to be with a woman, I'd be crushed, but, I'd be happy for her because she found someone that she ultimately loves. And that's ok. I would, and will, move on but keep her as my friend, because who knows, we may get a chance to be together later on. With that being said, this new friendship has fueled a lot of ideas for the new book and I'm really glad that she has inspired me in that way, and in other ways, too. Most of all, I'm glad she has rekindled the romantic side of me and I'm thankful to be able to do things for her that I haven't done in a long time. I'm in the process of getting a way for you to buy a signed copy of my book(s). I'll let you know when I have more details.
August 29, 2013: Just an update. Still haven't been able to pull off the ability to get signed copies available. I just don't have the money to buy them up front. I'm so sorry. If you desire a signed copy, you'll have to pay me first, then I'll buy the book, have it sent to me, sign it, and then I'll send it to you. That's about the only way I can do it right now. And I don't even have a good way for you to pay me first. I need to research that some more. I'm terribly sorry for being so late in updating the site with brand new news. To get the ePub version of my book for free, go to smashwords.com and use this code: ud35g. It's free through tomorrow, 5/11. The ePub format does not work on the kindle so make sure you have the proper device and/or app on your computer/phone. The kindle version has been reduced to $.99, permanently.
What I may do is extend the time frame with another coupon to allow more Manuscript wasn't really officially done. That short story needed some more work and that's being done right now. I'm adding some more to it to tie certain events together a lot better. Hopefully I can lock this down soon so I can get a complete page count so I can move on to the artwork stage.
I'm proud to say that the manuscript for my next book is officially complete and awaits further editing by me. And again, it's a book of poetry because I still had material to work with when I was prepping the release of my first book of poetry. I firmly believe that this book is going to be even better than my first one since I've grown as a writer and was able to bring out more emotion and detail (I hope!) and I have so many ideas for future books and I'm super excited about my novels! I LOVE WRITING!!!
I am excited to let you know that my book, "Beneath Blackened Clouds," is everywhere. Amazon, Smashwords, Barnes and Noble, Books A Million, Apple Bookstore, Sony, Kobo, etc. I'm so happy I'm giddy. And check your local library and educational institutions because they may have it, too, like they're suppose to have.
